Your careers entitlement

Careers education is about much more than choosing a job. It helps you understand yourself, explore opportunities, build skills and make informed choices about your future.

As a student at Wigston Academy or Wigston College, you can expect:

  • Age-appropriate careers education from Year 7-13.
  • Information about academic, technical, vocational and apprenticeship pathways.
  • Access to current labour market information.
  • Meaningful encounters with employers and employees.
  • Experiences of workplaces.
  • Encounters with colleges, universities, apprenticeship and training providers.
  • Careers links within subject lessons.
  • Access to impartial personal careers guidance at important transition points.
  • Additional support where your individual needs or circumstances require it.

Unifrog

Students use Unifrog to explore careers and courses, record activities, compare pathways and prepare applications. Login guidance and activities will be shared through school and college.
